What Colour Am I?

Sick of being daunted by choices when it comes to shopping? Never sure if you look good in that yellow top, or what eyshadow colour you should be using? We tackle the tricky question of colour for all you who are asking, “what colour am I!?”

I look a bit like Agyness or Gwynnie…
You have: Blonde, pale and blue eyed
Your colouring is: Cool
Pale skinned gals with pale hair and blue or grey eyes have cool skintones and may also be called a winter. So what colours look best on you? Anything with a cool feel to it, such as stark pinks, greys, icy blues and shades of yellows and crisp greens. Crisp whites and brights can also work too.
Your pale skin can carry pink lippy extraordinarily well, whilst bronzer is a great warmer (especially if it has peach undertones). Those blue or grey eyes look fantastic accented with browns and coppers.

I look a bit like Dita or Lucy Liu…
You have: Dark haired, pale and pale eyed
But you could also have: Pale skin and brightly toned hair like Gala darling, or asian features
Your colour is: Cool
Unlike the girls with the pale hair, cool skin tones with dark hair can really pull of those contrasting shades of red, blue and green for high impact high drama looks. But of course you can easily wear anything from greys, whites and silvers through to shades of crispy icy winter tones.
Pale skin and dark hair looks amazing with a slap of red lipstick, but for those times that you don’t want to have that much impact a red toned gloss can do wonders.

I look a bit like J.LO or Eva Mendes…
You have: Olive skinned with dark hair and golden brown to medium brown eyes
But you could also have: Olive based Maori or Pacific Island skin
Your colour is: Warm
What’s more warm than the golden rays of the sun? It’s this warm golden tone that is the undertone for your olive skin and rich brown eyes. For you the warming colours of the sun are natural choices, from warm reds and oranges through to rusts, warm golden based creams and even some pinks and browns.
When it comes to the world of makeup it’s the greens, blues and purples that will make your dark eyes pop, and bronzey lip colours will look sumptuous.

I look a bit like Natalie Portman or Katie Holmes…
You have: Medium toned skin with medium brown hair and hazel eyes.
But you could also have: Dirty blonde hair and green or light brown eyes
Your skin tones is: Medium
Lucky girls with medium skin tones can look good in most colours that hit the moderate end of the spectrum like medium toned reds, medium toned blues and even some greens and yellows. Lucky you!

I look a bit like Naomi or Estelle…
You have: Medium toned dark skin, with dark hair and dark eyes
But you could also have: Medium toned eyes and medium toned hair
Your skin tone is: Dark/Cool
So often when we talk about darker skin tones they get lumped into the “dark skin” category, but these skin tones are often the most complex. Most dark skin tones are actually cool in undertones, meaning they lend themselves well to bright popping colours as well as silvery greys and crisp clean white. But, with tanning and bronzing these skin tones can easily switch to warm, it’s like the best of both worlds!
When it comes to colour, I love to use dark plums, reds, mauves and burgundies to add richness and warmth to cool skin tones with dark features. But bronzes and coppers are great choices too, especially for warmth creation.
